Christmas Lights

Way back when, when Mark and I were first married, probably before we were married he told me that he didn't hang Christmas lights. Our first Christmas I tried to talk him into hanging just one simple strand across the front of our house. I was not successful. I have since gotten used to the idea that I won't have a lit up house and honestly living as far out of town as we do, with very few visitors it really doesn't bother me. However, every Christmas I like to give him a hard time about it and his reply is typically "Babe I am just to lazy to do it, sorry."
So this is how we know our kids are listening when we have what we think are private conversations. We were sitting at the kitchen table eating dinner the other night and Calvin pipes up and says "hey dad, guess what, I told my friends on the bus that you were too lazy to put up lights." Yup, just like that he told on his dad to his friends. Yeah for Calvin I just may get lights on the house after all.

That is good. Tim has the excuse of finals to weasel his way out of them right now.

We keep saying "one of these years!" I *love* Christmas lights, and so does Todd, but we are always just too busy it seems. Maybe next year . . . maybe. I hope you get your lights! Your house would look amazing with them.
