Happy Birthday/Thanksgiving Calvin

Six fun facts about CALVIN on his 6th birthday

1. Calvin loves to ride the bus. Loves it!!!

2. Calvin has learned to read.

3. His favorite color is still red.

4. He is shy, I had a hard time getting any birthday pictures.

5. His favorite song is "life is a highway"

6. He has lost his two bottom teeth.

This year my birthday fell on Easter. Calvin's fell on Thanksgiving and Josie 's will always be on Christmas Eve. Weird huh?

So needless to say Calvin had a little bit different birthday party. Before we ate Thanksgiving dinner all 35 of us sang Happy Birthday to my little Calvy. Who really isn't so little anymore. Holy Cow SIX years old.

Calvin was born 2 weeks after Caleb turned 1. I remember one night shortly after he was born. It was bedtime and I was worn out tired. I was trying to get Alyna in bed and take care of my baby boys. I had Alyna and Caleb in the same room and Calvin was in a bassinet in my room. The rocking chair was in the kids bed room so this is where we were. Alyna was in bed with the covers over her head to try and block out the noise of Caleb screaming in his crib because I had to nurse Calvin so he wouldn't scream. I remember this very vividly because as all this was going on I had tears streaming down my face because I just didn't know how I was going to do this. I remember thinking that if I could just make it until they were 2 and 3 I thought I would be okay. And now look my boys are six and seven years old.

Needless to say, Calvin was very much a surprise!!! And I am ever so grateful he snuck into our family. How I love his sweetness, his soft cheeks, his kind ways, his excitement about life and so much more. I love you Calvin Stirling Habel, Happy Birthday!
