I love being a mother! I had a great day. Lots of loves, relaxing and good food. BBQ Chicken, baked beans, potato salad, corn of the cob, strawberries and MC's absolutely fabulous chocolate silk pie ended up being what was for dinner. I cooked, but my dear sweet children tried hard not to fight too loudly as they did the dishes. Mark supervised and sang "Love at Home" to keep everyone in the mood. I tuned out and watched a show about buying a home in France. I think that would be so FUN! Except I would probably choose Germany, but I think that would be super fun to live in Europe again.
The kids were very generous and could hardly wait for me to open the pedicure kit from Alyna, the delightful nail polish selection the little kids chose ( Celestial from Caleb, Really Rio from Calvin, Jamaica me Crazy from Belle which she say is biolet (violet) and the hanging basket extensions that Josie / dad picked out. Mark also gave me a gift certificate for a little relaxation at Zingti. I love the pampering and can't wait to have a good pedicure/ movie night.
Here is little sample of what Calvin had to say about me for Mother's Day.
My mother loves me best in the afternoon. (?) ( Maybe because that is when he gets to play the Wii?)
My mother looks most beautiful in the morning. (?) (Maybe because he isn't really awake yet, and his vision is still a little blurred?)
I like being with my mom the most at night reading scriptures. ( Really?) (Really!!!) ( All right!!!) ( That is some serious incentive for me to keep it up, even if I don't think they are listening!)
My favorite thing about my mother is playing with her. (It doesn't happen often, I am glad he enjoys it when I do slow down to play.) ( I need to do that more.)
My mother is a good cook when she makes Shepard's pie. (Okay?)
If I could give my mother something special just from me, it would be money. (Woohoo!)
Motherhood is a tough job, but I LOVE IT!

what great gifts from your kiddos! And I love Calvin's answers. About reading at night . . . Bro. S's talk in church also gave me the boost/reminder I needed about the importance of reading to our children.
happy mother's day!
