A Perfect Day at the Fair

Here is my recipe for a perfect day at the county fair.

First things first, BUY YOUR TICKETS & BRACELET IN ADVANCE! If you are going to go to ride the rides this really is the best buy and most time efficient way to do it. Tickets are a pain! So here you have it the Habel way of going to the fun park. Oh yeah your going to need cash. No credit card machines here.

10:00am - Head 'em up and ship 'em out!

In the morning is when we check out the animals & exhibits. Some of us are more thrilled than others about this part of the fair. However, the thought of endless rides keeps them happy for a while.

The baby goats were the cutest, usually the baby bunnies are our favorite, but we couldn't find them this year.

I hope this is the only time I will ever see the inside of an ambulance, but I was curious and had to climb in, much to Alyna's embarrassment.

Two total opposites, a chubby little cherub and an army hummer.

12:00pm - YIPPEE! The rides are OPEN. WOOHOO! I would recommend parents getting a bracelet also, because it is WAY fun to ride the rides with your kids. They are just giddee and you really can't see that from behind the gate. It was so fun to laugh our heads off while spinning around and around! Oh my goodness. Daddy and Belle rode the "unicorn ride" A LOT! We definitely got our moneys worth there!

1:00pm - An hour is just about right to get to ride each ride and have a Hawaiian shave ice. Oh they were so delicious this year, maybe I just found my new favorite flavor (Tigers Blood) and that is what made it so good.
Leave the fair and go home for hot dogs and a nice nap. You're going to need it, it's going to be a late night.
4:00pm - Back to the fair for endless rides! Oh if you have any kiddos under 4 leave them home...I mean get a sitter. It is so worth it.
6:00pm - If you've got good friends saving you seats in the grand stand you can wait until 6:00 to get dinner, otherwise get food earlier or you won't get a seat for the fair. Thanks Dave and Candy, you guys are awesome seat savers. We like fair food! Mark discovered some great pulled pork sandwiches and the teriyiaki wasn't bad, but the frozen strawberry lemonade was, YUMM_O!
7:00pm - Rodeo time! Okay here is were are going to make some improvements... even though it is 80 degrees during the day, Oregon nights are chilly. Note to self, next year bring a sweat shirt! We probably would have stayed a little longer, but we were cold.
10:00pm - Enjoy the lights as you eat a gigantic elephant ear!

See you there next year!

Mmm. The fair back home always has the best hamburgers--Posse Burgers--SO good.
Your kids are so cute and look like they're having a blast!

I just discovered that I like Tigers Blood too - I never tired it until last week. It was the name – never sounded to appealing.
