"Whenever I think about pioneers...

I think of brave women and men. I like to remember that children came too;"

I was really excited when Mark dug the trenches, nice neat tractor dug furrows. Easy, beautiful. Then came the hard part, filling in the trenches! That is back breaking work my friends. Indeed I thought it would be simple. Shove the dirt back in right, really how hard could that be? Well I am here to tell you that it is hard! Harder than I thought it would be. I have to say thank you to my sweetheart for all the work that he did, sure I filled a few trenches, but he planned it out, shopped for materials, dug the ditches...thank goodness not by hand! (really we have so little understanding of what the pioneers had to do!) laid the pipe and the electrical component, listened to me whine, and make sure it all came together. He deserves a lot of loves! Probably double loves for the listening to me part.
The boys were quite helpful. Everyday that we were filling trenches, he'd have them out there working with him (and me sometimes) for at least a couple of hours. That made me proud and it made me think of the pioneers and what a different life they led. Working together as a family is important. It feels good, especially when its done. August 27th, we are almost ready to seed. WOOHOO!
