Where does the time go?! I thought it was the very least I could to do to post a monthly update. Thought for sure I could make time for that ... But looky there no snapshot for March or April and now I can feel May slipping away! So I may or may not catch up. I may or may not come up with a new plan, but for today I wanted to say...
As I reflect on the wonderful weekend I have had with my darling family, spending time together, celebrating one another, learning together, playing together...I feel abundantly blessed. My life and family are unique and I am grateful for the life I have been blessed with. Both for my existance and for my circumstances.
This life is full of JOY. I love life! I strive to live a life that will be acceptable to my Father in Heaven and to accomplish those things that he has a desire for me to do. Today. In this phase. It may not be fancy or glamorous or noteworthy, but I do believe it is eternally worthwhile to be a mother.
Thoughts spin in my head of where I am, where I have been, those I have loved and continue to love, those who have influenced me and I am happy. A little sad because there are some moments of sorrow mingled with that joy, nevertheless it is the bitter that makes the sweet a little sweeter.
Today I miss my mom, my angel mother. but the words of a hymn by J. Montgomery seemed so sooth my soul..."Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven". I do not have her here, I can't call her, or hug her, or tell her of my love and yet I feel the blessings of heaven. and then it doesn't feel so much like a sacrifice.
My dear friends & family forgive my ramblings, but it important to me that you know... that I know two things for sure... 1. That motherhood is divine (certainly not easy or without its pull your hair out moments) and 2. That families can be forever. How fortunate I feel to have this blessing of heaven.
Happy Mother's Day!
