A whirlwind of a week!

It has been a busy week. With a couple of snow days thrown in the mix I have felt a little disoriented. While I love a good snow days and truly have enjoyed having the kids home I am ready for the routine to come back and so is my house. She needs a good overhaul. That might be the feeling of spring in the air, I know it is snowing but March is just around the corner and I have a serious case of spring fever.
I wish I had pictures to share, but I do not, so there. Haha that rhymed. Anyway, here is a random sample of the randomness of our life this week.

Tuesday afternoon we went to the movie... Yogi Bear... good, not great, but who cares if the kids are happy. The theater was PACKED!!! That makes it a little less fun for me. Crowds make me nervous. Plus we sat on the front row of the balcony, 4 of us tucked against the wall. Two on the other side of the isle, which made for a popcorn soda sharing nightmare. Plus Josie downs the soda so we had to crawl over the family sitting by us twice, not so fun on the front row of the balcony with a 3 year old. We won't sit on the balcony again, my nerves can't handle it.

Wednesday we cranked out two "space odyssey" cakes for the boys Blue and Gold banquet. They turned out good enough. The boys were happy and they tasted like cake so all was well in the world. Caleb's cake was a two layer red velvet cake with chocolate frosting and red candies all over it with the caption "Mission to Mars". Calvin's cake was a white bundt cake dyed several shades of blue and green with m&m's stuck around the sides so that it looked like a space ship with the caption "Take me to you Eaters". Now I have several scout doodads that need to be sewn to shirts. smile.

Thursday was a snow day! WOOHOO, the kids played out in it for about 23 minutes and I worked in the shop for most of the morning. After lunch Mark and I got a wild hair and took the family to test drive cars at both of the dealerships in town. Mostly just for fun, maybe a little to see what is out there. But it was a fun and unusual way to spend the afternoon. The kids got a kick out of it. Caleb was a little concerned that we were stealing. See random, so wonder I am out of sorts.

Friday was a snow day again. The kids played out in it for awhile, I did not. Lamemo, I know, but they don't really need me to go out with them and that is fine with me. By the time I would have got ready to go out they would have been coming back in, right?! That makes me feel better. We did go to McD's for lunch, got some books and movies at the library and went for a swim, though. Alyna was cute at the library, she had been looking at the movies for a while and then with a big smile on her sweet little 15 year old face said look mom all of my favorites, can we get them all. I had a flashback to when she was five. Her favorites were and are Mary Poppins, Aristocats, The Sound of Music and Madeline. The kids watched movies snuggled on Alyna's bed, Mark sold Spider man (the farm truck) and I went to dinner with my girlfriends. It was a good day.

Saturday was working day... I worked with the accountant to get Q1's books ready for taxes (not my favorite, but necessary) while Mark and the kids helped a woman in our ward move. Then we stopped by the church to get it ready for Sunday. We have been meeting in Rainier for several weeks while our building was getting some repairs, tomorrow we go back. Which means I have a lesson to prepare. This lesson has so much to cover, whittling it down to 45 minutes will be the challenge. I am completely loving the New Testament I just need to work my lesson prep into my daily life so that I am not a crazy woman every Saturday night. I need a little discipline.

It is Sunday evening, the kids are tucked in bed, everyone is healthy and happy. Mark is watching his shows and well, here I am making a plan for next week. Life is good.

March is almost here and I'm feeling the spring fever bug as well.
Hope you have a great week!

oh Jenn, how I miss you! I love checking google reader (which I have been out of the habit of since my blog is still under construction ... again!) and seeing an update from you! Zach was just asking about Calvin again the other day, we MUST get those two together like we have talked about, maybe once spring actually shows her beautiful face we could meet at a park or have dinner somewhere. anywho, hope you are well, and that things are settling down a bit ... but do they ever?! I keep thinking maybe someday, but when someday actually comes, it's always something else that's got me trying to catch up again! ((hugs!))
