...someone gets hurt.
During a game of
kickball at pack meeting a few weeks ago, Caleb slid to tag his friend Evan out
and came up with a slice on his shin and blood dripping. His Scout leaders quickly covered the wound with a napkin,
Shawn ran to get a first aid kit and I ran to get my car so that we could let
the professionals deal with what ever was under that napkin. Mind you, Mark was
on a plane home from Alabama and Alyna was at EFY. I first loaded up the rest of the kids
and then came to my right mind and left them at the church, where a sweet friend took care of them. Thank you Marion. One of the dads swooped my little /
big boy up and put him in the car and we were off to the urgent care. Thank you Russ & Shawn!
By the time we got to the UC Caleb was pale and scared and wanted his dad. The sweetest part
was while we were waiting for them to take him back he asked if we could pray
and we did. What a blessing to be able to call on our Father in Heaven when we
are scared and hurt...what a choice moment when our children request it.
They quickly
got us back and got Caleb's leg cleaned up and numbed. Caleb would tell you that was the most painful part. It took 5 maybe six shots to get him numb. Poor boy, but after he was able to relax he was quite the comedian and made some new friends with the ladies in the UC. He also had to call grandma Tullis and tell her he had lost their bet. Apparently they had a bet that he would make it through high school without any injuries. That was a funny conversation. Another friend came back to sit with us at the UC. Thank you Dory...you are the best! 15 stitches later he was good to go. All is well that ends well.
