* These must be notes I took when Brad Wilcox came to speak to our youth at a stake youth conference in Seaside, again several years ago. Interesting to look back. He taught a lesson to the youth based on the words to this hymn and it changed the way I sing and hear and feel this hymn. I loved this hymn before this talk from Brother Wilcox but I adore it now. This was either just before Alyna turned 12 or just after, I don't remember her being there. Shannon and I drove to the coast just the two of us and spent the day getting to know each other better. That was nearly 5 years ago and I am happy to say that Shannon continues to be a forever friend.

Tyler went to that so I am sure Alyna must have gone too. I think they were 12.
Yes, I remember that conference! I have a page of notes that are folded and tucked into my general conference notebook. I remember that talk as being a light-bulb moment. He always has such great insights, I love listening to him speak.
And yes, I remember spending the day with you -- what fun! And what a special treat for me! :) I can't remember exactly why I went (I didn't have a YW calling or anything -- Scott was always in the YM's) . . . . I guess it was just to spend the day with you! Lucky me!
