The bright or gleaming surface of something.
 

In young women a few months back I taught a lesson about letting your light shine, about loving others, about reflecting and radiating the love of our Savior Jesus Christ.  As a conclusion to our lesson we went outside for a "Shine Photo shoot".  These girls Shine.  They Radiate. They Glow. They Sparkle. They Illuminate. It has been my privilege to be their miamaid teacher as they have and continue to teach me.  Our theme this year has been "Arise and Shine forth that thy light may be a standard to the nations."  D&C 115:5. They most certainly are shining examples to me.  It is my prayer that they will always reflect the light of Christ, that they will boldly and confidently ARISE as a standard to the nations!
