One of my favorite things to do in the summer time is to play at the beach. I don't particularly love all the sand that you inevitably take home but I do enjoy watching the kids dig in it at the beach. The beauty of living by a river is that the "beach" doesn't necessarily mean a trip to the coast. We had so much fun playing by the river. I just love to watch the kids enjoy and explore the great outdoors.

If you know Caleb at all you know that those three dogs you see in the background were a bit alarming when we first arrived, but he soon realized that leashes really do inhibit the natural tendancies of dogs. Thank goodness!

I love going to the beach too, but also dread the all-day event that is going to the coast. That's a good idea to just head to the river -- I don't think we have ever done that. You'll have to tell me what particular river beach you went too, although I have a pretty good guess.
