12. tHinGs I lOve aBouT beRry PicKinG

1. Empty buckets just waiting to be filled, the anticipation and excitement!

2. The smell of fresh picked Oregon berries is one of the most divine smells on the planet. It seriously makes my mouth water!

3. Picking. It is strangely therapeutic to walk up and down rows and rows of sweet summer goodness. It is serene, restorative, comforting, peaceful...until the kids tire out that is. Okay I am a sucker for a minute of two of peace.

4. Conversations. Special, sweet, silly and unusual conversations of all types happen when you are berry picking.

5. Sitting in the grass, Josie is such a great demonstrator of her new found sitting skills. Call me crazy, but Josie got a little restless and so I found a quiet unoccupied row and sat in the grass and nursed her. It was really a sweet little moment. I found Joy in motherhood sitting in the grass with my babe.

6. Being outside! I really love to be outside especially on beautiful sunny days. It was a perfect 78 degree day. Just lovely!

7. Hide & seek.

8. Wearing grubby cloths so you don't mind getting "berry blood" hand prints on you.

9. Wagon rides. The kids were as entertained by the wagons as they were with the picking.

10. A few sample berries. You have not lived, until you've eaten a perfectly sun ripened raspberry fresh from the vine. Oh MY!

11. Photo ops. I love to take pictures of my kids having a good time. Capturing these precious moments are much sweeter than even the most perfect berry.

12. Cooling off in the sprinklers. Okay, I did not run through the sprinklers, but maybe next time I will because it sure looked like fun!

Berry picking is so much fun! I also love listening to the conversations people have. I was totally eaves dropping on a bunch of teenagers whose mothers MADE them go, the last time we went. So funny:) I love that you got to nurse in between the rows of berries:)

how fun! That was on my list to do this summer, but looks like we'll have to bump it to next year. Mmmm, those berries do look delicious!
