I had so much fun painting nails and visiting with girls I knew and girls I did not. I had fun chatting with the woman who were running the show. I had fun listening to the girls. I had fun hearing about how late they had stayed up. I had fun sitting quietly and watching as it all unfolded. I had fun reminiscing about my years at girls camp. I had fun talking with a sister that I love and admire about how these YW are the future RS. I had fun eating a delicious meal I did not have to cook. I had fun walking through the woods checking out each camp. I had fun watching them pull there skits together. I had fun gathering with these sisters young and old to retire the flag. (SHIVERS!) I had fun watching the skits. I had fun being near Alyna and seeing what she was seeing. I had fun feeling the spirit of girls camp. I had fun sitting quietly after campfire beside the nice warm fire. I had fun watching little trails of flashlights go back and forth to the bathrooms. I had fun listening to laughing, chatting, and even the occasional scream echo through the forest as these girls prepared to go to bed. I had fun chatting with woman I love by the campfire. I had fun saying goodbye to my little girl knowing that she was in good hands. My dear friends I had more than fun ... I felt joy! Joy in the gospel of Jesus Christ, joy in womanhood, joy in being apart, if only for an afternoon, of something that is unexplainable wonderful to me. I am so incredibly blessed to be apart of the kingdom of God on earth. There IS joy in the journey. There is trial and opposition as well, TRUE, but without that we couldn't know joy and joy is... delicious and warm and wonderful!

I'm glad you came to be with us for a day and thank you for bringing up my letter from Ryan! I love how you described joy...delicious and warm.
That looks like so much fun! Thanks for letting me live vicariously, since as the mother of all boys I will likely have lots of experience at scout camp, and none at girls camp.
it was a fun surprise to see you at camp! And how great that you got to pop in and get a glimpse of Alyna in the middle of this new & fun experience. Hope I can do that someday when Anna is that age!
