A day with my daughter

In late August, Johanna and Tammy invited Alyna and I to join them on a girls day out in honor of Johanna's 13th birthday. What a treat to have a day with my daughter! Now that school is back in I am especially grateful for that day. It seems that, between an early bus pickup, school, her volleyball, the boys soccer and homework my time with Alyna is limited. Strange how I have gone from thinking she would never go to clinging to our precious time together. It is wonderfully exciting to watch her grow up and experience life, and yet... it is stolen moments like this that linger in my mind and warm my heart.

She is her mother's daughter! Oh my goodness.
