Lehi Rodeo

As much as I love the lush green of the NW, the Utah desert still delights.  I love the open plains, sage, cedar and scrub oak.  I love that storms roll in and roll out quickly and I love the heat...for a little while.
We arrived at grandma and grandpa Bell's (my grandparents) late in the afternoon and freshened up for the Lehi rodeo.  Now, Mark and I take our kids to the rodeo every year.  It just isn't summer without a good old fashioned rodeo, so we were surprised that for the rest of our family this was a first time show.  Or at least if they had been to a rodeo before it had been a LONG time.  It was a good rodeo, but it made me appreciate our little small town fair & rodeo... where if you get bored with the rodeo you just go ride the rides for a while or watch the rodeo from the Ferris wheel.

 Calvin...he's there just hiding.

My personal favorite part of the rodeo is when the rodeo queen rides around the arena with the flag unfurled and the star spangled banner is sung and the crowd stands hand over hearts.  It makes me proud to be an American.

I ask you, are they not the sweetest thing ever?!

Good Times!
