Each year as the new year approaches I consider where I am and where I am going spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally. I choose a word that will motivate me and focus my ambitions for the year. In 2007 I gave birth to our fifth child on Christmas eve and I needed a word...2008 my word was breathe. I needed to focus on just taking one moment, one breath at a time. In 2009 my word was laugh, I don't remember my 2010 word, 2011 my word was shine, 2012 my word was discover and this year my word is happy.
HAPPY!
For bead group this month we made a collage to represent our word, it was so fun! It made me happy!Creating, sharing, laughing, making a mess, eating good food and nurturing friendships all make me very happy. I realize that being happy may not always come easy or that some days we just flat out don't feel like it, but happy is not a destination it is a journey. Truly there are moments of happiness all around, every day we just have to be open to them. See them. Appreciate them. Create them.
In 2013 I choose to be happy, I choose happiness over misery and because I want to live happily ever after I will align my life more completely with that of my Redeemers.

So cute. And I love that you had root beer floats at your "one little word" party. Here's to a happy 2013!
