On the Saturday before Easter we spent the afternoon at Misti and Ryan's. It was a beautiful warm sunny day. The party started at 1:00 and began with swinging on the swings, jumping on the trampoline, playing with the baby chicks and ducks, and shooting a potato gun.
After the dads hid nearly 2000 eggs the children were gathered, photos were taken and the hunt was on! After the kids search the whole meadow over only 2 of the 5 cash filled eggs had been found, so the older kids kept looking and looking. Belle was one of the lucky ones who found a golden egg filled with 2 $5.00 bills. I am not sure if the other golden eggs ever turned up. After about an hour my kids we hot and sweaty and ready to eat some of their loot. It was so wonderful to sit and chat and laugh with the grownups as kids ran around and played.
After a while we ate a delicious pot luck dinner, complete with ham, roast turkey, funeral potatoes, rolls and so many other yummy sides and desserts. I brought deviled eggs, green jello salad and a lemon poke cake.
It was a perfect Easter afternoon!
