We made it, we are home! WaHoo!
We left NE at 10:15pm on 07.04.09 just after a ridiculously fabulous fireworks display and headed for home. Mark drove and we slept, kind of...but not really. Our eyes we closed and it was quiet for 7 hours. Really that is quite impressive, it could have been way different! Believe me.
12 hours after we left we were in Ogden, UT, the half way mark and still doing good. I tried to take a turn driving, but I am really no good at long distances, after 100 miles I gave up and turned it back over to Mark. He on the other hand is an excellent long hauler! The kids we really good, not without a few ggrrrr moments, but that's what keeps it interesting. I tried again to give Mark a break but a crazy rainstorm through the blue mountains did me in and so I was only good for about another 100 miles. That is pretty sad, Mark drives 1400, Jenn drives 200. Oh well.
We pulled into our drive way at 9:30 pm on 07.05.09, 25 hours later, with the 2 hour time difference. Oh my goodness, we were pooped, Mark especially! Really there is NO PLACE LIKE HOME, especially after a long day in the car. I think I am still recovering.
What a trip though. We were able to see Mark's whole family. We had safety the whole way. The suburban ran well. We have 622 pictures to sort through and nobody got sick. What a deal!

Whew! I'm glad you made it safely. And that's how I am--driving long stretches just about kills me. Kent usually does it all.

Oh Man that is some trip- I've got to the point where I do most of the driving- so I feel your pain.
